13th Art Camp “OCCULTOURISM” SUMMARY
13th International Art Camp Kosjerić was held between 30th ofJuly and 13thof August 2016 in Kosjerić. This year’s theme Occultourism has attracted more than30 young artists from Russia, Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Turkey, Greece, Northern Ireland, Serbia, Japan and Venezuela.
The artists worked in three different workshops: Music, Street Art and Theatre.
Sounding Workshop brought together 8 talented musicians who rehearsed and arranged 9 famous songs from their countries of origin. Familiar tunes brought cheers from the audience at the final performance held on 12th of August in Kosjerić and on the 13th of August in Belgrade. In addition to their concert, the participants worked closely with the Theater Workshop and played a role in the final theater performance, as well as in the opening ceremony of the Wall painting Workshop.
Based on the theme Occultourrism, participants in the Theatre Workshopplayed with the cultural concepts and usingelements of superstition, religion, rituals, traditional and contemporary, funny and serious, they worked together and separately to create 7 different characters. The character-comedy play, inspired by the work of Dusan Kovacević, a famous Serbian playwright and director, was presented to the audience on the 12th of August in Kosjerić and on the 13th of August in Belgrade.
Artists from the Street Art Workshop were inspired with their homeland myths while they were painting the wall on the Sports Hall in Kosjerić. Every participant had its own part of the mural for creating a mythological creature of their choice and together they painteda fairy-talelike composition presented to Kosjerić community at the opening ceremony on 12th of August.
Within the Art Camp Children Workshop was organized and it attracted 40 youngest inhabitants of Kosjeric who were divided into thematic groups, and in this way continued working. A group of children interested in animation as an art expression, met with the entire process of creating animations.They had the opportunity to design and implement short animated forms made up of typography, graphics and static images. All children’s works were presented to the audience as a part of the final program of Art Camp. Along with the participants from other workshops children participated in children’s carnival, wearing costumes they created and having fun on the streets of Kosjeric.
Another traditional event, popular International evening that included music, dance, movie and food was held on 8th of August.That evening people from Kosjerić had a chance to hear, see and taste products from 15 different countries.
Among other free time activities, participants enjoyed a rock concert of local bands, as well as beautiful nature around Kosjerić during short trip to a nearby lake, and ofcourse two events that happen each Camp: Kids Carneval and International night.
